2018: A Year in Review

2018: A Year in Review

And just like that another year has passed and new one has begun, and boy am I excited.

I am starting this year in a completely different way to how I started last year, and I’m so excited to see how this year progresses. 2018 was a testing year, reaaaal testing at times, but looking back over the year has shown me that I have experienced a lot of incredible things and have some amazing memories to take with me into 2019. Last year taught me to be patient and allowed me to learn more about myself than ever before.

It can be easy to focus on the negatives in life, and our reflections can so easily become overcrowded with negative memories, regrets, and the urge to just start all over again with a fresh year and new resolutions. But when we look more deeply at the year, and what each of us achieved, we should all finish the year being proud of ourselves, and we should celebrate and embrace the positives of our year and everything we have learnt, achieved, and experienced no matter how big or small.

It is important to remember that there is nothing wrong with celebrating your own successes and that sometimes you need to stop, breath and reflect to really grasp how far you’ve come. This is one of THE most important things I’ve learnt this year. I lack a lot of confidence in myself and can be incredibly self-critical, but I finished this year being proud of each and every little thing I’d achieved and thats how I aim to continue into 2019.

Thank you 2018 for the lessons you’ve taught me, the experiences you gave me and the person you allowed me to become. Here’s a few of my highlights from the year:

January – This month gave me the opportunity to explore a new city (and one that had been on my list for a VERY long time)… Copenhagen. In one phrase.. I will be back!

February – I went to a new continent!! I have always wanted to go to America, and this month I got the chance. And what better way to start than with Vegas. A particular highlight was visiting the Grand Canyon… I still can’t get over this view!

March – I celebrated my first anniversary with my love, and couldn’t be happier. We celebrated in Venice!

April – Easter. And chocolate. Enough said.

May – I started a new job! I’m currently studying for an MSc in Environmental Management and was so fortunate to be offered an opportunity to put my environmental skills to the test with a Solar power producer.. I couldn’t have been more excited!

June – I treat my Nan to a trip to the Warner Bros Studio Tour aka THE MAKING OF HARRY POTTER. I’ve been far to many times, and my nan has always loved Harry Potter, so I treated her for her birthday!

July – I moved back to London after moving home again after uni, and its been amazing!

August – I took a leap and stepped out of my comfort zone to become an ambassador and distributor for a global beauty company. I’ve made so many friends in the process and am loving it.

September – I took another trip to America, visiting Seattle, Portland, San Fransisco, and…. MONTEREY BAY. This has been on my bucket list for years and I couldn’t have been more excited to tick it off!

October – I got to dance with my old dance school girls again! We worked out butt’s off to perform back in our dance schools show as past pupils, and we had a blast.

November – I turned 24!

December – December had its challenges. But I did get to spent some lovely time with my family, and for that I couldn’t be more grateful.
